Step-by-Step Installation of WB Clear Fast Set

Pre-Application Assessment & Preparation

1. PREP: One of the key components is to ensure that the surface is free from sealers, dirt, oils, glues and other contaminants.

a. A few methods for properly preparing the concrete are:

I. Using a lower grit (16, 30) metal bond diamond tool on a
single headed or planetary grinder with a vacuum and
grinding dry. In order to accomplish this floor in ‘One Day”,
dry grinding would be necessary.
1. This is the primary method for prep used by
Professionals.
● Note: Water should not be used for prep. Insure floor
and joints are ‘bone dry’ before coating

2.  Apply Polybase98:

Mix Polybase 98 by drill mixing. Mix in the proper
amount of pigment (1 pigment/ 3 gallons of Polybase98). It is
recommended to never mix a full 3 gallon kit. Most mix 3 quarts at one
time. Apply Polybase98 to the floor by dipping and rolling out of a pan.
Use a 3⁄8” nap, 18” roller cover. Larger floors can be accomplished by
pouring the Polybase98 on the floor and using a flat squeegee to spread
the product and immediately backrolling. Coverage rates for dipping and
rolling are approximately 250 sq ft per gallon. *Polybase 98 has a total life
of about 15 minutes to get where you want it. The Polybase 98 product is
available in Summer and Winter blends. Refer to data sheet for more
information. If exceeding the maximum recoat window of 12 hours
Polybase98 must be screened with 150 or coarser screen on a buffer and
microfiber clean to ensure adequate adhesion with the subsequent coat..

3. Apply Poly 90 (or Poly85 Slow) Top Coat Pigmented:

After the Polybase98 coat has sufficiently set and is no longer tack free
(typically2-12hours) the Poly 90 can be applied. Note: Never apply until the 1st coat is tack free.

Mix in the proper amount of pigment (1 Poly Pigment colors 4 gallons of Poly 90).

a. Mix the Poly 90 by drill mixing. (1:1) ratio

b. Poly 90 colored topcoat should be applied by using a flat or small
notch (5-7 mil) squeegee and back rolling with a 3⁄8” nap, 18” roller.
Top coats tend to lay out better with less chance of roller lines when
using a squeegee and back rolling. Approximate coverage with this
method is 250 sqft per gallon

i. Add traction additive if desired.

ii. Protect area from traffic until the coating has sufficiently
dried (typically 4-8 hours for light foot traffic. Temp.
dependant)
